How the levitation works
The base holds an electromagnet and sensors; the moon carries a magnet. When you lower the moon onto the centre of the base you feel it lift and settle, and the base corrects its position hundreds of times a second so it hovers in place and turns. It is silent, the moon stays cool, and if the power cuts the moon simply drops the few millimetres onto the base.
Setting it up
- Place the base on a flat surface away from other magnets and metal.
- Plug it in and wait a few seconds for the base light to settle.
- Hold the moon with both hands above the centre and lower it slowly until you feel the field take it. Let go.
- Tap the base or use the remote to cycle the three tones.
